Well this post will be quite the update since I'm long overdue. Hope you enjoy the pics- assuming you make it to the very end! :)
We went on a short camping trip to Scofield Reservoir to do some fishing and camping. Brought the pup along too...
We camped way up high in the "boonies"- yes that means I "roughed it" with not even an outhouse!
It wasn't much of a fishing trip since this was the only fish we caught. I had one for Mason, but it got away just before we could get the net on it!
In July we were able to go to the traditional big Durfey Family Reunion, where we took part in their second annual 5k and mile fun run. Mya looked forward to the race all year long. This pic is before the race...
Last year Scott kept pushing her to keep running, which led to some tears (and a good inside joke for the whole Durfey clan haha), but this year she was all smiles and didn't stop once! Here's the first lap.
Mason was wanting to run, so Brennon took him for a lap on his back...
Look how cute! They wore their medals proud! Mya did awesome coming in about 5th or 6th, passing most of the older cousins! Mason would just run across the finish line as each one came in haha
It was just me and Shawna that went to the reunion this year... So glad they came with us!
The adults ran the 5k, where Scott and Shawna repeated as the men/women champs...
The first weekend of August we went to Yellowstone with Scott's family and had a great time! We went thru Bear World on our way up...

As we were driving through Bear World Brent and Mindy stopped as a bear approached their van...
If you look closer you can see the bear actually opened the car door with his teeth! So glad we caught it on camera! So funny!!!

We drove home through Jackson Hole, so we had to get some pics in front of the famous antler archway!
On our way home as we were taking a potty break in Evanston, or whole front end differential fell off our Durango! It made for a crazy end to a crazy vacation! Our amazing neighbor left Riverton at 10:30 to come pick us up with his trailer. Scott stayed behind with the car while me and the kids split up between Scott's brother's cars. It was crappy but we sure were blessed when/where it happened!
August 1st, Scott and I celebrated our 8 year anniversary! My how time has flown! He sent me these awesome roses- fire & ice are my favorite.
To celebrate we went to our first RSL game...
The kids and I took advantage of the $2 Tuesday's at TKP with the cousins...
One thing that kept us busy this summer (well more so Scott than me) were triathalons; which he participated in 3 this summer. First one was in Herriman, sprint distance (500 meter swim, 12 mile bike, and 5K run). Look at that sunrise! The kids were good to be forced out of bed so early!
Scott of course did great, although he struggled in the swim. It was the first time he had ever swam in a lake, but he sure made up for it in the bike/run. He finished 43rd overall and 7th in his division, with over 300 participants! His final time was 1 hour 22 minutes, with a 5K time of 21 minutes.
Next Tri was in Bear Lake, which we left the kids with Melissa over night. This Triathalon Scott did the Olympic distance (1 mile swim, 25 mile bike, and 10K)
He had trained so hard on swimming to be prepared for the much longer swim and the cold Bear Lake...
He thought he'd be in last place after the mile swim, but he did great! Love this pic!

I was so proud of Scott for his first Olympic distance, finishing 31st overall and 6th in his division with over 300 participants!
The left leg is an "o" for olympic (they also had participants doing a half iron man and a sprint) and the 30 is for the age division. Surprisingly the 35-40 age group is the most competitive... Scott crushed his initial goal to finish by 30 minutes, finishing in 2 hours 35 minutes, with a 10K run of 41 minutes!
Here he is getting ready for the Sandy Tri. He ran this one last year for his very first tri, so he was stoked to tear it up and beat his last year's time...

Scott passed these two guys in the last turn. It was so fun to cheer him on through the last stretch.
He beat his last year's time and ended up taking 1st in his age group and 6th overall with a time of 59 minutes flat with a 5K run of 19 minutes 17 second! Yep, that's my husband!
After Scott finished the Sandy Tri we ran to Mya's first soccer game (okay it was her second but we missed the first game while in Bear Lake)
She is getting better and better with each game, and has scored 4 goals now!
After the soccer game we went to the Sept 11th Healing Field in Sandy, where we caught the tale end of their program....
Each balloon represents someone who died during the Sept 11th terrorist attacks....
They also post a flag for each individual who died on that tragic day.
They separate the flags into those that died on each airplane, the Pentagon, and the World Trade Centers.
Each and every flag has a card with the name, age, and where the person was from who died. This one was of an eleven year old boy. It's such a sobering, humbling feeling to walk through those hundreds of flags to read each name...
Then after the Healing Field we got ready to go to the State Fair, where Scott had helped Mya enter 2 of our chickens... And low and behold she won! Our White Leg Horn took 1st place for her breed and our other chicken took 3rd. She was so proud! And made for a good ending to a fun day!
Mya started preschool in August. I can't believe my baby is old enough!!!
Mya and Sage are tied at the hip! :) They love going to school and playing soccer together!

Here he is trying to make a new fashion statement. He loves wearing his bow tie, even when it's with a shirt that doesn't need it. LOL We added the glasses so he could look like the recent sport stars modeling the thick brimmed glasses. haha He cracks me up!
This boy loves to play ball~ any ball! And he's super coordinated too!
I just started with the potty training... He is only going when he wants to, which is typically after he's already peed in his diaper. So it takes about 15 minutes, and a half a cup of water to get him to go. I was getting impatient and kept telling him to hurry and go. This is a pic of him saying, "Go! Pee! Pee!" I haven't laughed that hard in a while...
Scott has taken up a new hobby- lawn painting. He did this to rally up for the BYU/Utah game.
And this one for the Washington game... I think he's got a talent!
To add to our busy summer, Scott has also been helping his brother, Russ, track down a bear for a tag he drew out on. After days and weeks of baiting, tracking, and hunting Russ finally brought "The Reverend" down (they nicknamed the bear the Reverend because of the white patch on his chest).
My sisters and I are getting more and more done on our quilts from Mom's clothes. Here's the first sewn section of quilt #1... Still a long ways to go, but we're making progress!
I was able to attend the General Relief Soceity meeting with my sisters, aunt, and cousins.

This last weekend Melissa and I were able to fly out to Denver to meet Jordan's family for Ellie Louise's baby blessing. So grateful we could be there and take part in such a neat blessing!
