Babies are Miracles

A few weeks ago a girl from Scott's family's ward lost her little boy one day before her due date. When my mother-in-law first told me the sad news I felt so awful. I could not imagine having a miscarriage at 11 weeks let alone after having a name picked out, showers thrown, baby room complete, and 40 weeks of pregnancy... Now that I've composed myself after reading their blog, a tribute to baby McKallister, it makes me feel so grateful for the gospel in my life. What miracles and blessing babies bring to our lives- whether they are your own, a niece/nephew, or even a neighbor's they are just a little piece of heaven you can hold in your hands. Their blog has really touched my heart, increased my faith, and expanded my gratitude for eternal families. I encourage you to read it if you have time, but I am warning you now it is a tear jerker!!! Just click on the link tied to "baby McKallister" for a testimony builder.

Funny Clips of Mya

I thought my family that lives out of state would enjoy seeing some funny clips of Mya to see what she's up to lately. And of course for any one else that needs a little break in their day will enjoy these as well! ☺ The first is her talking gibberish and playing doctor with Elmo. It is pretty long because Blogger wouldn't upload the edited version I did on our movie maker... The second is what Mya likes to do with her cocoa puffs cereal!

"So Big"

So Mya thinks she's quite the "big girl" now by climbing on everything and throwing in a little "independent attitude" lately, but from her 18 month check up she's hardly "big" at all. She still has not hit the 20 lbs mark, making her less than 3% on the growth chart (aka not on the chart at all). The same percentile goes for her height, short like her mom and dad but that's pretty much expected. As for our little darling's head "it looks like a pumpkin on a toothpick", as she is in the 75th-90th percentile for her head circumference haha! You would never guess she only weighes 19 lbs by looking at her cute "Buddha Belly". So technically she should not be in a forward facing carseat, as the experts say, but if we always followed their guidelines my older sister Melissa should still be in a booster seat! haha Love ya Miss! :)

Fish Lake!

Last weekend we went to Fish Lake with Scott's fam (minus Mindy and Brent- we miss you guys!). Although we didn't catch many fish, we still had a great time. The only bad part about the trip was I had to miss my best friend's wedding :( The weather was perfect and it was fun to get away and play. Lot's of pictures, so enjoy! Just an FYI (mainly for mom hehe) I made the pictures small so if you want to make them bigger just click on them. :)

We enjoyed throwing rocks into the lake while the boys took the aluminum boat out. Which, to Russ's biggest disappointment, was not running properly after all his hard work. (Thus their upset faces coming back into shore...)

Sage and Mya loved playing in the dirt!Mya reading to Blake. She was so cute with him all weekend. On the pontoon boat...Fishin' with DaddyThe only fish Scott caught was this tiny perch. I assisted Ady in catching the biggest fish at 16 and 1/2 inches, but didn't reel it in. And Mya did not have any luck on her first fishin trip. It was a long day on the boat! :)Mya loves eating Popsicles! :)Getting cleaned up and ready for bed with AdyThe cute girls in their jammiesHere is Mya and Adyson jumping on the bed before church. They were so funny.

We always have to take a family picture before church at the lodge. Here we all are in front of the cabin we stayed in.Our little family at the Fish Lake Lodge...

Giddy Up!

On July 5th we took Mya for her first horse ride on Scott's brothers' horses. We had a really good time, and Mya loved it! Here are some fun pictures (I am still waiting to post the 4th of July pics once I get them from my sis-in-law because I forgot my camera that day!!!)

Future barrel racer? :)
I had to post these funny pictures I took of Mya the other day. We have this mesh hamper thing that we store all the balls in. Mya was trying to get all the balls out and this is how she ended up...
After I took a few pictures she started to get upset when she couldn't get out. It was too funny!
