Smart Little Fart

Saturday morning Mya decided she wanted to watch a movie. She pulled out the nicely stacked pile of DVD's and had them spread across the floor. She found Ice Age the Meltdown and brought it to me and made her usual grunting noise which means she wants something. :) So I opened the case but the DVD was gone. I thought it might be in a different case so I told her to go get Little Mermaid from the pile. She walked right over and grabbed Little Mermaid for me to look. I opened it and still no Ice Age. I told her to try Shark Tales, so again she goes over to the 15+ messed up DVD's, finds Shark Tales and brings it to me. Ice Age was not in there either so we decided to just watch Shark Tales. She grabs the DVD from me and goes right over to the DVD player. She proceeds to hit the open button, remove the current DVD and replace it with Shark Tales! The only thing I had to tell her to do was to push the button again to close it! I was completely amazed! Never have I told Mya how to do it, or helped her push the right buttons! Scott did not believe me when I told him so she proved him wrong by doing it again for her dad. It amazes me how fast kids learn, and reminds me to be a little more careful of what I say and do because I know she is constantly observing my actions. Mya is so much fun and I'm so thankful she's my little girl! Here is a fun video clip of her playing soccer. This age is so much fun!

Random...

Here's just a random blog of pictures I've taken lately...

Mya loves her Elmo and drags him everywhere she goes. She's also recently become attached to blankets- no one in particular. The other day I found her playing on the stairs putting Elmo to sleep. Everyday she does something that makes me laugh.

Our garden turned out pretty good this year. We planted peas, carrots, corn, jalepenos, tomatoes, tomatillos, cucumbers, and cantaloupe. The cucumbers and cantaloupe are just starting to get big, I'm so excited! Our corn turned out MUCH better than last year! I was excited that it tasted so good!

Here is Scott and Mya playing with the darts early in the morning while watching the Olympics. We are slightly obsessed with watching the Olympics that we are not getting much sleep. We stay up way too late and then get up too early. Okay, okay, I don't get up as early as Scott does but it will be nice to catch up on our sleep when this is all over. Go USA!!!

This is Mya playing in her toy "room" haha We stash all her toys down stairs in a closet, and lately she prefers to play in the closet than bring all the toys out into the family room.Last weekend we went up Fairview Canyon with some friends in the ward so our hubbies could go elk hunting the next morning. It's so great to have friends in the ward!
Mya with her two "boyfriends" Ethan and Dillan. They all play so good together!

Yeah, I don't have much to stay about these next two pics... Just Mya being goofy that I caught on camera.

I debated posting some other pictures I took of one of Mya's "firsts" that happened yesterday morning, but decided it may gross some of you out. haha After 1 year and 8 months to the day I thought I no longer had to worry about having a "doodie" in the tub. But my little girl surprised me once again when at the very end of her bath time she pooped! Thankfully all the water was gone but I freaked out a little and Mya just laughed, then I started laughing. The little "stinker"!!! Some may think it's gross I even took a picture at all but the whole situation was funny and her alligator bath toy had its mouth open right to it. It was just too funny not to document for black-mail when she is a teenager. haha

Buy Me Some Peanuts and Cracker Jacks!

Last Monday we went to the Salt Lake Bees game with Scott's fam. In the first inning we witnessed our first live grand slam! It was awesome! Thanks Randy and Nancy for getting the tickets, we had a great time!

My sister and her husband Mitch(who is Scott's brother, for those of you who may not know- me and my sister married brothers so our kids are double related, also making my sister my sis-in-law. Anyway, I digress...) are just finishing up building their home. It has been a long process since they've done 80% of the work themselves. Last Wednesday all the girls got together to help Miss polish up all the wood in her house, and man do they have a lot of wood!!! All the base boards are wood, their doors are all wood, window trim is all wood, etc, etc. I thought it would be fun to take a few pics of us cleaning to help show the fam out of state how their house is looking. They have been given the clear from the inspector so they've started to move things in. I'm so excited for them to have this new house, as they (mainly Melissa) has sacrificed for so long being in their small 2 bedroom home with 4 kids!!! This home is amazing and is located just down the street from a Triple Crown Parade of Homes Community (which Jerry Sloan is now living in, and rumor has it Deron Williams just bought one too! Mitch is going to try and recruit him to play ward basketball! haha)

Isn't this kitchen awesome!?!
Shawna and Jamie acting sooo exhausted. That wood polishing takes a lot of energy! :)

Proof I was there cleaning too. Even though a good hour was spent taking care of Mya after she burned her feet on the hot cement outside. :( On a side note, that big log above the fireplace was from one of the trees the boys chopped down on their property. Also, Mitch did all of the rock on the fireplace too! I'm so glad the Curtis boys are so talented when it comes to construction/landscaping!

Stinker, she would not let me take a good picture!
Mya and Ty playing peek-a-boo in the cupboards

Mya and Sage with Grandma Curtis. My in-laws are submitting their mission papers this week!!!
I took other pictures of the home but they did not turn out since the sun was glaring right through the windows. So sorry Nate's Fam, Jordan&Laura, and Mindy's fam that I couldn't get you more. You'll just have to see it for yourself the next time you're in town!

Island Park

Last weekend we were able to go to Island Park for the Day Reunion. One activity I wasn't able to get pictures of was the "river run." It was like a 3 hour ride on Seven Peaks' lazy river! haha The water was not deep at all so a few went down in tubes while the ones with kids rented a raft. Although it was long we had a really good time. Mya loved the water and did better in the raft than I thought she would. I didn't dare take the camera in case it got wet, but for some reason Scott thought our cell phones would be okay in our sack of snacks... Needless to say they both got very wet! Thankfully my phone still works, but Scott's wasn't as lucky. He'll have to be without a phone for another 10 days until we are eligible for a new phone through T-Mobile. It's hard remembering what life was like before cell phones!!! :) Enjoy the pics...

Mya with my Grandma and Grandpa Day
Mom, Mya, and Sierra watching us play the "Mickey Mouse Olympics"
Scott and Rob being goof balls
Potluck dinner with the whole gang
Mya showing off the big bruise I gave her by accidentally hitting her head on the door :(
Mya with Alysia. She misses her Montana cousins!Mya's new favorite game is Ring Around the Rosies. She makes EVERYONE do it with her! Scott and I do it with her at least 3 times a day!The fam playing "Would You Rather" in the cabin. Here's a little clip of a challenge my cousin Ben and his wife Erin had to do to move ahead in "Would You Rather." It was hilarious- the movie doesn't do it justice.

Shawna and I have been talking trash to each other about an arm wrestle and she finally got me to compete against her before we left...
Needless to say I lost... I put up a good fight though, and paid for it the next day with a sore shoulder! Watch out Shawna, I'm doin push-ups now and am gonna kick your trash in a few months! hahaOur arms were dead after 2 "stale mates" of me not letting Shawna break my wrist for the pinLast minute family picture before getting back into the car.
I had so much fun visiting with all my long lost cousins. I wish we could have had one more day to hang out! Thank you Aunt JoAnne and Uncle Kirk for putting this together. The cabins were amazing and we had such a great time!

Family Pictures

So a couple weeks ago we had our family pictures taken by my sis-in-law Jamie (Phippen) Day. She is just starting up her business and she is really good. See for yourself...

By the end we were all pictured out. Mya was picking her nose in the snap before this, and then she just started crying. Robert came along too and was great at getting Mya to smile. She loved playing in the river. Thanks Rob and Jamie they turned out great!!!

More fun in the sun!

Mya just loves playing in the water. If she had her way (and well frankly if I had mine too) we would play in the pool everyday! But sometimes just taking a bath gives her the "water rush" she always craves. ☺ She is too much fun!

Tess wanted to play too, but Mya made sure she stayed out of her pool! ☺

She also loves Popsicles- and she was literally all blue by the end!

This is her favorite part of playing in the water. She likes the pool, but she loves playing with the hose! And of course she always has to try and get a drink- it's become quite the game.
