Here is a fun "sampling" of what we did this summer. It's not in perfect chronological order, but at least it will now be recorded! :) Of couse the highlight of our summer was Kenya, but she is special enough she already had her own post! Enjoy the picture overload!!!
We went to the zoo 3 days before I gave birth to Kenya... I got some classic looks as I did my best to not waddle the whole time! Here's the traditional zoo pictures...
| My Handsome Boys! |
| We loved the new polar bear exhibit! |
| I love these two! :) |
| Yep, they're monkeys! |
| I'm ready to pop! |
| Helping Dad plant the garden... |
| Scott has mad gardening skills that even Napolean Dynamite would be jealous of! We had an awesome garden this year! |
| This was our average sized cucumber! |
Scott finally used his 30th bday gift I gave him the weekend of Father's Day... Sky Diving!
| I think he looks a tich nervous here... His tandem jumper was giving him crap the whole plane ride such as "Now, where does this strap go?" haha |
| Gotta throw up the U! |
| Yeah! Daddy is alive! :) |
| His instructor was exactly what you'd imagine a sky diver would be like! haha |
TBall could not come fast enough for Mason! He was counting down the days for months until he was old enough to play! He was the youngest on his team (which he turned 3 in the middle of the season) but was the best one! He is now asking when he'll play baseball again... It's gonna be a looonnnggg off season! :)
| He is so proud of his first trophy! :) |
In July we went to Scott's old family tradition Lamb Day in Fountain Green, UT where his Dad grew up...
| Mya was so excited to run in the Lamb Scram. She had been training with her Dad for a few weeks to run the mile race! |
| She was one of the youngest girls to compete. She probably would've placed in her division (4-8 yrs old) but she fell and skinned her knee pretty good. After Dad wiped away her tears (or told her to hurry and get up hehe) she was able to run the entire mile! |
| At the parade wearing the Hansen family t-shirt. Thanks to our friend Marissa Dillman for the hook up the whole weekend! |
| Yep, it's all about the sheep! |
| Scott always talked about riding the Sheeper Kreeper as a kid... It's gone from being pulled by a cool tractor throughout the park, to now a fourwheeler in a big circle; just not quite the same! |
| Our little Mutton Bustin Champ (or how she'd say it Mustin Button)! |
Summer time also means triathalon time! Look at my hot triathlete hubby! He's competed in 3 so far and has one more next week in Lake Powell... He is freakin amazing!
| Moab |
| Cheering Dad on in the dry heat (and me being 8 months pregnant!) |
| 3rd place in his division! It was a killer course that ended up being more Xterra like than just "road olympic" as advertised... Next year he'll be on the blue! |
| Herriman- Black Ridge |
| He tore it up finishing the sprint in 1:15, taking 4th in his division which was super competitive with the 1st and 2nd place guys having a sponsor! |
| Thanks to his Mom for coming to cheer him on! |
| Bear Lake |
| Just missed the podium on this one too- taking 4th place again... |
| Kenya was a trooper helping us cheer him on! |
Scott had the kids enter their chickens into the Salt Lake County Fair; each of them submitting 3...
| Mya holding her favorite chicken she named Fluffy because of the feathers on its feet. |
| Getting her nice and clean! |
| All 3 of Mason's won first place in each of their divisions! |
| Two of Mya's won first, and one took second place! |
| Proud of Fluffy :) |
| Pulling funny faces in front of this crazy looking chicken! |
| Getting licked by the cow... It freaked Mason out, but he did it unlike Mya who wouldn't go near it! :) |
| Showing off the first "baby eggs" the new chicks from this year started laying... |
Some summer fun on the 4th at Herriman Resevoir with cousins...
| He cracks me up! |
Love this photo sequence of the kids playing in the backyard....
Mason Wade turned 3 on the 5th of July! It's a great day to have a bday cause you get to celebrate it all weekend long with Independence Day!
| Scott did most of the work on this awesome cake! |
| He HAD to have a pinata.... and it HAD to be a football :) |
| He loves his bike from Gma and Gpa Curtis! (Gotta love the helmet! LOL) |
Kenya's special day in her beautiful dress! ...
| My amazing family of 5! |
| I love all the funny faces she pulls!!! |
| 3 generations.... |
| I wanted my sisters in a pic with me in lieu of a 4 generation pic I have with my other two kids... I know Mom and Grandma Durfey were near by! |
We were able to go boating with the Curtis fam (thanks to the Huntington's) to Jordanelle on Labor Day...
| Kenya was awesome the whole day! Even when she had to wear the life jacket! |
| Awww... Nobody wants to play with me! :) |
| You wouldn't know it from the movie or pics, but Mason was begging to try the kid skiis out. We kept saying he was too small, but thanks to Dad he was able to do it. He was scared but he loved it and bragged about it for a few days! |
| That's me... I didn't last very long... Only been one time before! |
| That's Scott wake boarding- he's pretty much a pro... |
My little girl started Kindergarten!!!
More summer fun in the backyard...
Since all 9 of our chickens are now laying eggs, we get over 3 dozen a week! Since the chickens are the kids' chore they keep the money for the eggs they sale. I love Mya's cute sign. We've had 4 random people stop to buy some in the three times they've been out to sale :) They love paying tithing on the money they earn!
The yard decoration for the rivalry game!
| Scott is really good at it! |
| Yep, we brainwash them while they are young! ;) |
| We didn't get any buyers that day... I think we're surrounded by cougar fans! |
| It was a LATE game! All the kids (except Brock) crashed on the couch :) |
Taking a celebration lap after a crazy ending to a crazy game!
My sweet Lou-Lou! She is getting "big" fast!
| Mya and Mason LOVE their little sis! |
| 3 months old pic... |
Well you made it to the end! Hope it was worth your time! Thanks for stopping by!

Kenya is so beautiful!!!
Looks like you had an awesome summer! Your kids are so beautiful.
Love being able to see what you are up to!
Wow. What a summer. You did a whole lot more than I did. I blamed it on pregnancy, but thanks to you I can't do that now. Love the pictures.
