The cute things Mya says...

I knew if I didn't write this down I would forget, and since I currently do not know where my journal is I will blog about it and hope that fellow readers get a kick out of what my cute little girl says. :) Last Thursday Mya walked into my room while I was still sleeping. She stood at the side of my bed and I said, "Good Morning. How did you sleep?" She then says to me, "Shhh, brother is sleeping," as she patted my tummy. It's so fun to see her get excited about her baby brother.

Then this past Sunday as we were driving to my mom's house Mya started to complain her stomach hurt. I figured she was constipated and asked if she needed to go potty. In her sick, groaning voice she replied, "No... baby kicking" as she held her stomach. Scott and I busted out laughing it was so funny. Mya does have what we call a Buddah Belly; she is so petite yet her little belly bulges. We occassionaly tease she is pregnant like mom and apparently she's starting to believe it! haha She is so funny and I'm so grateful she's mine! I love being a mom!

Why it took us a year to sell our home...

So we put our house on the market in July 2007. We had two failed offers between August and December of that same year. It finally sold October 2008 for much less than what we could have made the summer before... Yes we were frustrated and didn't know why other homes could sell before ours did. Well last week I think we received some answers and are now finally okay with having to wait as long as we did. :) My little bro Ren is now officially engaged to Emily, whom we had help set up through friends we had met in our ward. Had we sold our home in 2007 we would have never met Zac and Katie (as seen below in our vacation pics), Katie being the sister of Emily who will now be my sister-in-law! I hope you were able to follow that! haha We got the two of them to meet in September at a flag football game that Zac and Scott created which Ren played on, that we got Emily to come watch. :) We threatened Ren back in January that if they didn't get married he'd owe us the difference in the sales price we lost, but thankfully Emily accepted his proposal so we won't make him pay. Congrats Ren, and welcome to the fam Emily!

VACATION!!!

This is what we left Thursday morning at 7:00

SNOW, SNOW, SNOW! It was so cold, we were 30 minutes late departing from the airport so our airplane could be defrosted.

And this is what we arrived to at 3:30. The SUN, SUN, SUN of Cozumel, Mexico!

We (with our friends Katie and Zac) stayed at an all inclusive resort, that turned out to be very nice. Here is the main entrance to the lobby...

And the bedroom, which they made cute figurines out of the towels just like a cruise does.

This was the pool right outside our building; there were two different swimming pools.

They had a walk way that took you right out to the beach with nice sand.

We arrived on Thursday and played everyday until Monday afternoon. Here are a few pictures of what we did...

We went on a guided jeep tour that took us to fun spots around the island of Cozumel. We went snorkeling (which I need to scan in the picture of) that was a lot of fun. I was a little worried how I would do being big and pregnant, but it was just fine. Katie is also pregnant, 4 weeks behind me, and we got a little special treatment from the guides to make sure we were okay. :) We saw some awesome fish and an eel.

Part of the tour included a visit to some Mayan ruins. They weren't the big pyramids like you see in Cancun, but they were still neat.

The Mayans didn't really have a "city" on the island of Cozumel, but would come across for a "religious journey" I guess you could say. They would travel to this spot to meet with the Fertility God. Depending on the Mayan/Moon calendar, when they arrived at this spot they could determine the sex of their baby. It was kind of interesting but our tour guide was very hard to understand with his Spanglish. :) Here Katie and I are posing in front of the arch where the Fertility God lived, showing off our pregnant bellies. Yes, I am much bigger than she is! haha

After the Mayan ruins, we toured their Tequila Museum and learned how they make Tequila. haha I think a lot of people signed up for the Jeep Tour just so they could get free shots of Tequila! Here is Scott posing in front of the many different kinds of Tequila. It was pretty funny how drunk some of the people in our group got.

We also stopped off the road to check out a "hot spot" for crocodiles and sure enough we got to see three different crocs!

Our next stop was the lighthouse. Scott climbed the stairs while I checked out the little shops. :)

Here's the boys playing in the big waves, that our beach did not have. It was so funny watching them, you would've thought they were ten year olds and this was their first time in the ocean. :)
Every night at our resort they would put on a different show. Our favorite was the Mayan dancers. They showed us different ritual dances they would perform. It was a cool program and neat that it was so up close. We would occasionally get brushed by their feathers as they danced around. In this pic they are passing a fireball.

Our last night was spent eating at the resort's nice steak restaurant...

We had a great time, but it was nice to come home to be with our crazy little girl again! This is how she dressed herself the next morning. She loves her cowboy boots!

Easter!

We had quite the fun filled Easter. We started the festivities Saturday night with some sugar cookies and coloring eggs. We bought a cool tie dye kit that brought out our creative sides. :)

Mya wasn't sure what to do and kept posing for the camera. I finally gave her a crayon and let her color the eggs that way.

Easter morning we took a friend to the airport at 7:00. Mya was so excited to see if the Easter Bunny had come to the house. Once we were home she heard a ring at the doorbell and got so excited. We rushed to the door only to find a real Easter Bunny with her basket of goodies! She was so excited, it was cute.

So here is Mya's new pet, Flash. He is a very cute and good natured rabbit.

We of course had to play with him right after she got him, so here she is still in her pajamas playing with her bunny and Daddy.

After we put the bunny away then Mya examined all the candy in her Easter basket. She thought it was pretty cool. :) It was fun to see her so excited about everything.

After church it was time for the annual Curtis egg hunt! Since Scott's parents are on a mission, Scott and I were in charge of hiding all the eggs. I hid the hard boiled eggs in good hiding spots so that the "big boys" would have to help the kids find them. I think it made it fun for everyone, but still not quite like Grandma and Grandpa's. :)

Mya loved looking for eggs and was pretty good at it by the end.
