Getting Your Vote...

So I had my hair done today to be ready for the little sis' wedding in a couple weeks... Scott asked me when I was going to go back blonde. It's much easier to keep up my dark hair vs the blonde but I do like both. So I thought I would get your vote! Which do I look better as- a blonde or a brunette? And none of this "You look good in both" crap, just give it to me straight up :) Thanks!

My Little Girl and Amazing Husband

I love being a mom!!! :) Mya is so much fun and is the bright spot in my day. She is always doing something crazy to make me laugh (and sometimes get upset) but in the end she leaves me with a smile. Here's some fun recent pictures of my little girl...

This one was taken on Cinco de Mayo, in her authentic Mexican dress from g-ma and g-pa Curtis.

Like I said before sometimes she is crazy, and this was one of those days. She would "growl" and stick out her tongue. I could not stop her from "attacking" me so I could get a better picture. haha

"Helping" with the groceries. I just missed taking the picture of all the yogurt she had so neatly lined up in a row on the floor, it was pretty funny.

She likes taking Elmo for rides on her little lion. Still working on getting rid of that darn binky! My goal is before she's in nursery which is in 3 weeks! (Not that I'm counting down the weeks! haha)

So now that I've bragged about Mya, I thought I should brag about her daddy too. For the past week and a half Scott has been working hard on his "project". I tease him about his "projects" because he just loves building things and he gets so excited about them. He just finished building a dog box to go in the back of his truck for when he take the dog(s) out hunting. And um yeah, we don't have a dog right now. :) This is all just in preparation for when he finally gets one. His next project is the dog house which I'm sure he'll start on tomorrow. He really did do a great job. I told him he should sell them on ebay or ksl.com :)

Sigh... I hate the real estate market!

So Scott has been bugging me for at least 4 months now to paint the master bathroom. I kept telling him, "We're not painting our bathroom now that the home is for sell. I don't want to paint just to move..." Anyway after much persistence Scott finally talked me into painting but not only did we paint our bathroom, but also an accent wall in the living room and 2 walls in the kitchen. Little did I realize Scott bought the paint the very next day and we started painting that next night (Tuesday). Well we had already planned on having an open house that very Saturday (the 10th). So needless to say Tuesday through Friday we were up painting until 3:00 am!!! Okay, okay Tuesday night I fell asleep at 1:30 and Scott came into bed at 2:45. But man have we been sleep deprived. I kept getting mad at Scott for starting this project right before the open house, but now that it's done it looks really nice. So after staying up till 3 Friday night we were to start the open house at 10:00 the next morning. We still had cleaning up to do and Scott was to mow the lawn. We set the alarm for 7:30 but to our exhaustion we slept right through it (and amazingly Mya slept in too!) and we didn't wake up until 9:30!!! We busted our butts and got the house clean in 1 hour, and had the posters out by 10:30. Then all we had to do was wait... I even made Oh Henry bars for anyone that would walk through... And so we waited... and waited... The open house was advertised to be from 10-6. 3:00 rolls around and still no one. Mind you, I still had not taken a shower because I couldn't be showering just in case someone was to come through during that time period. Scott left and took Mya to go shopping for mother's day while I stayed to manage all the hopeful buyers. So I waited... and waited... sigh... and waited. Not a Darn Freakin' person came through! I was so mad! We worked so hard and stayed up so late for nothing! What a waste of a day. So yeah, I currently hate the market right now- not only because our house not selling but because it's affecting my job as well. Utah's market is really not that bad, but it's the stupid media that makes it seem so much worse which scares potential buyers. Stupid. So anyway, I just had to vent a little and update you on what we've been doing the past week. I know we're technically not in a "rush" to sell but with the current gas prices and Scott's commute we're just ready. The house has been on the market now since last July, with 3 failed offers. I can't complain too much because I know there are others out there that have it worse (like the Wrights- sorry guys you have to move back but we're excited to have you in the ward again! :) ) but it is just frustrating. Well here are some new pics of the house. What do you think of the new paint job?

St George and Zions

We went on a little trip 2 weeks ago to St. George and Zions with my high school buddies and their husbands. We had such a good time. Here's some fun pics...

All tuckered out... We forgot the stroller so dad had to carry her the whole time :)

Mya did so good in the car, only whining a couple times- no real tantrums. :) I love her dimple in this picture. Her hair was out of control from rubbing in the car seat. Here's a funny clip of her being goofy in the car...

Bumps and Bruises

Over the span of 1 week Mya got the following "ouiees"

This one came in behalf of Grandma Curtis' coffee table. It bruised immediately and later produced quite the the black-eye (as seen further below)...

We had been home from grandma's for barely 5 minutes when Mya got her first fat lip. She was twirling in the kitchen when her feet got tangled and she landed right on her face on the hard wood floor. It started bleeding which freaked mom out a little :) She would not hold still to let us stop the bleeding. Needless to say we both had blood all over us! It was a hard night...

This is the black-eye two days later...

Mya skinned both of her knees with her first experience of walking outside with shorts on. You can see some of the other bruises on her shins. She skinned this one as we were loading the cars for St. George. She was so brave and didn't even cry!

Silly Goose!

I finally took Mya in for her one year pictures 4 weeks ago. They turned out really cute. Here are just a few...

Here are some funny pics and videos of Mya. Hope they make you smile like they do for me!

Mya loves to get into the bottom drawer in the kitchen and pull everything out. This video will show what else she likes to do with the drawer....
