Mission Accomplished- Hunting Tag Fullfilled!

My Scotty finally got his first animal after hunting for over
10 years, and boy was it a good way to start! He drew
out for the limited entry mountain lion on his first
submission! It was A LOT of work, but a big thanks
to Tee (and Mike) for the help with their dogs to get
this cougar treed! It was 6'8" and weighed 120lbs,
pretty average size but Scott was still thrilled-
especially since he got it with his bow. Good job
honey, I'm so proud of you (and also very grateful
this hunt is over! haha) Enjoy the pics!

Yes that's right!

Mya is going to be a big sister! :) As you can see from the t-shirt we broke the news to our families on Thanksgiving (it's hard to hide being pregnant while you're living with your in-laws) but I wanted to wait longer to officially announce it to everyone else. Just to clarify the shirt says, "Mommy's Got A Lil' (Turkey- which we used Mya's hand to draw) In The Oven. I am 14 weeks along and am feeling pretty good. My due date is July 11th and we are all so excited!

Christmas and Pictures!!!

I finally switched out the computers and downloaded 240 pictures that I'd been storing on my camera! So here's a few pics showing what we've been up to in December...

When Mya had a cold she was constantly getting tissues to wipe her nose. One day she decided Elmo had a cold too. She wiped his nose a few times and then decided to wrap him up in the toilet paper. I was busy doing laundry and when I realized how quiet she was I knew she was up to something. This is what I found with little pieces of toilet paper everywhere!!!

We went to the coolest Santa Claus that had real reindeer, and best of all no line!!! We walked right up to him and spent probably 15 minutes just talking and taking pictures.

Mya hated sitting on Santa's lap until his dog came up on the sleigh too. She sat and petted the dog forever. We were surprised she was scared to sit on his lap because that's all Mya would say when we'd say, "You want to see Santa?" she would reply. "Lap!" Every time we ask her to say Santa she says lap, it's too funny...
Petting the reindeer...

I took too many pics of the Durfey family party that I decided to only post two. Here's a shot of me and Mya with my Grandma Durfey.

After dinner and the nativity we have a great big dance. One of the songs was to the limbo. Mya just loved walking under the stick thinking she was so cool. It was a really fun party, except the fact my mom and dad weren't there since she was in the hospital :(

Mya's first gift for her b-day. She was so excited to unwrap it!
She loves the horse we got her :)
Posing with Daddy after they opened their gifts at the Curtis b-day party, where we celebrated 4 birthdays!
Trying to blow-out the candles. She would blow up instead of out so they wouldn't go out. It was pretty funny.

More birthday... We celebrated it with my family on Christmas Eve

Uncle Ren giving the girls a horsey ride :) Mya's shirt is off because she threw up! She acted better afterwards but she threw up 3 more times that night. Thankfully she was just fine for Christmas morning

Christmas morning opening gifts... Once she was done unwrapping one she would say "More!" before she even looked at her gift.

Yes that is a skirt around her head :)

Gotta love the "CHHHEEEESSE!" It's the same smile in every picture!

She loves her slide!
Posing with her bathtub baby...

Her cool easel that she loves to color on!

We finally took her last night to see the lights at Thanksgiving Point. She loved them :)
Christmas was so much fun with her this year. She has become quite the pro at unwrapping presents over the last week. We will be exchanging gifts with my family tonight so Christmas will finally be coming to an end!

Leave of Absence...

Sorry I've not posted for forever! Things have been very crazy lately! I have so many pictures I want to post but I'll have to save that for later when I switch the computers around... So my baby girl and hubby just had their b-day's on Saturday. I can't believe Mya is 2! She is getting so big and so smart. She always knows how to make me laugh. She loves the bouncing horse we bought for her. Scott says he's getting old, but he still has the energy of a 6 year old. :) He is always on the move and has to be doing something to stay active. I took him to his favorite restaurant, Tucanos and we stuffed ourselves sick! Well I know I've missed a lot but do want to post more when I have pics to go along with it. Just wanted to say all is well and we are really looking forward to Christmas. I hope everyone enjoys this special time being with family and friends. Merry Christmas until my next post...

Blog Stalker?

So do you ever just jump from blog to blog when you have time to pass? Well lately with work being slow, I've had extra time on my hands. Instead of doing something productive (like read the book I brought- Our Search for Happiness by Elder Ballard) I end up "wasting" my time reading about other people's lives. I first start out with those on my blog list, but then jump all around to my friend's lists. So I was just curious to know how many are like me and find old friends/acquaintences that you secretly read about their lives, but never leave a comment??? Yeah, I will admit their are a few blogs that I really enjoy reading and seeing what they are up to, but I never dare leave a comment! haha I wonder if there are any that do the same with my blog? Do I have any blog stalkers? Probably not since my posts tend to be a little more on the boring side, but I thought it might be fun to see if anyone else is willing to admit they do too! I guess another reason for this random post is because I hate not having my personal computer set up so I can post pictures... So many things I'd like to blog about (ie Ute game, Thanksgiving, and more random pics of Mya) but none of them are fun without pictures. Anyway, I'll stop my rambling and maybe be more productive and read my book instead. But if you have the courage, tell me if you're a blog stalker too!

Update on my mom...

First of all, thank you to all those that fasted and prayed for my mom and family. I am so very blessed to have such wonderful friends and family to be supporting us through this difficult time. I don't know where I'd be without the knowledge of the gospel, and the power of prayer and priesthood blessings!
My mom went to the onocologist yesterday and received hopeful news. They are pretty sure that it is breast cancer that has moved into her right lung, but will be doing a biopsy to test for sure. It is stage 4 cancer but the doctor said she has an 80% chance of living 10+ years! Such a sigh of relief. They will be starting off with a pill for 3 months before doing chemo therapy. I guess even though it is at a stage 4 it is not progressing very fast, so he wants to see how these pills react with the cancer first. He said although there is no cure, they will treat it like a chronic disease. This news definately came as some relief as the initial thoughts of lung cancer were all gloom and doom. She will need to stay "in tune" with her breathing so she doesn't wait as long as she did before to have the fluid drained. On Friday Mom said she hadn't felt that good (breathed that easy) in months! Today is a little harder she said, but still not as bad. I will continue to post updates as they come, but thank you all again for your prayers- and please do not stop now. :) The real battle has just begun, but we know that Mom is tough and we are expecting at least those 10 extra years with her!!!
